More about the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF)

All of the qualifications offered by Quadrilect Ltd are accredited onto the RQF which is regulated by Ofqual for qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and helps learners achieve skills and qualifications that meet industry requirements. The qualifications are also recognised in Scotland and are on the Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework.

All qualifications in the RQF are built from small units of learning, enabling learners to build up their qualification bit by bit. Each unit and qualification has a credit value, which represents how much time it takes to complete - 1 credit represents roughly 10 hours of learning. The level of the unit or qualifications shows how difficult it is. Within each level there are three sizes of qualification:

  • Award (1 to 12 credits)
  • Certificate (13 - 36 credits)
  • Diploma (37 credits or more)

Guidance on Exemptions and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

The Regulatory Arrangements for the qualifications and credit framework (QCF) defines RPL as follows: 'A method of assessment that considers whether a learner can demonstrate that they can meet the assessment requirements for a unit through knowledge, understanding or skills that they already possess and do not need to develop through a course of learning'.  For more information please click here
